"Don made everything seem simple, was very effective
in his job, and did exactly what we asked of him, both
with finding us our new home and in listing the old one. He was
great to work with, kept us informed, made helpful suggestions,
and made the process go very smoothly. We truly don't think we could
have had a better experience anywhere. We will not hesitate in the
least to refer anyone to Don and the Bainbridge Island JLS office."

"We so enjoyed working with you on our recent
real estate transaction. We are loving it here, and enjoying
the house and location very much! Many thanks too for the many extras
you did for us to make us feel so welcome. Again, Don, we very much
enjoyed working with you."

"We visited Bainbridge Island with the dream of owning
our first home. Don went above and beyond the typical duties
of a Realtor. He took the time to get to know us as a couple,
understand our personalities, and listened to our needs. We are
now homeowners, living in an area we love and in a house that is
absolutely perfect for us. Thanks to Don the process of buying a
home was pleasurable and unbelievably seamless. Don is thorough,
trustworthy, and dedicated. We highly recommend him as a Realtor!"

MEET DON:
When my oldest son and I rode our bicycles in the annual 32-mile
“Chilly Hilly” in February of 1990, I became convinced
that Bainbridge Island was an ideal place to live and raise a family.
We made a choice to move to the island soon thereafter, and I commuted
daily to Seattle on the ferry. My two sons grew up here and benefited
from the Bainbridge Island school system as well as the island culture;
both are now in college. The island has more than met my expectations
as a wonderful place to live, and I am committed to help maintain the beautiful environment, the strong sense of community,
and the friendly atmosphere that make this island such a paradise
for old and young alike.
Other Life Experiences
Having spent many years of my working life as a human resources
manager and later as a compensation design consultant, I now enjoy
applying many of the skills I learned within the business climate
as I listen to clients and assist them in making decisions about
relocating, downsizing, investing, and identifying the best new
home for them and their families.
My Mission and Approach
I have enjoyed developing strong relationships with my clients and
helping them realize their dreams. My personal mission is to serve
clients with integrity, honesty, and optimism, always mindful of
professional and personal ethics and what is in the best interests
of each client. My approach is to listen, ask questions, and offer
suggestions when they are requested. I am familiar with the Bainbridge
Island neighborhoods, parks, and schools, and I combine my experiential
knowledge with technological research to provide clients with comprehensive
information about properties to consider.
My Commitment to Continued Learning
My education continues, through formal programs offered to realtors
about such issues as home inspections, septic and drain field design,
quality improvements, and financial matters relating to real estate.
In addition, I keep abreast of city planning and ordinances that
will affect building and remodeling, and as a member of the Bainbridge
Island Land Trust board, I am involved in monitoring and providing
good stewardship of the earth and environment. I am committed to
continued learning—about real estate issues and regulations
but also about maintaining the vitality of our watersheds and the
health of the Puget Sound that surrounds our island, and encouraging
the use of native flora and other non-invasive plant species.
Participation in the Bainbridge
Island Community
As a member of the Bainbridge Island community, I have actively
participated and continue to do so to help make our island an even
better place to live, work, and raise families. I have served on
the Steve Kilpack Scholarship board, which provides awards to student
athletes, and I served for several years on the
Bainbridge Foundation, the island’s “One Call For
All” organization that solicits community contributions and
distributes them to over a hundred cultural, social, and educational
organizations on the island. I have also served on the
Bainbridge Youth Services board, as a board member and an officer,
supporting crisis counseling for all youth as well as a jobs program
that connects them with island residents and businesses. Currently,
I serve on the board of the
Bainbridge Island Land Trust, which has served to encourage
the conservation of the island’s forests, waterfronts, wetlands,
and other precious and beautiful land for the benefit not only of
the flora and fauna found in those places, but for all the island
residents to enjoy now and into the future.
Island Activities
I enjoy running, biking, hiking along trails on the island, and
walking along the waterfront with Barbara and our dog, Sundance.
We are delighted with the many cultural and social opportunities,
the arts films shown at the
historic Lynnwood Theatre, the friendly downtown shops, and
the wonderful variety of restaurants.
