Comments/Questions:

Bainbridge is a special place on the earth—magical, some would say—offering a slower-paced lifestyle, natural beauty at every turn, and a community that strongly supports education, environmental values, the arts and humanities, and open dialogue.
It is also only a thirty-five minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle.

DOWNTOWN:

Bainbridge has its own charming downtown replete with a variety of businesses: galleries, antique shops, gift boutiques, a variety of wonderful restaurants, a well-stocked bookstore, a six-screen cinema, cozy bakeries and coffee shops, and a marina. A county library, a children’s museum, a fitness center, a community theater playhouse, and an historical museum contribute to the unique flavor of Bainbridge life and are all within walking distance of downtown.

The island’s Waterfront Park
, also located in the downtown area, offers opportunities for kayaking and boating. Our local paper, the Bainbridge Review, carries news and cultural offerings.

ISLAND ATTRACTIONS:

The island attractions include the Bloedel Reserve a 150-acre international specimen garden and wildlife habitat. The island has a public golf course, a tennis club, equestrian trails and facilities, and is a great place for biking, art walks, a weekly farmers market, music festivals, and walking trails —at historic Fort Ward State Park, Faye Bainbridge State Park, Battlepoint Park, Gazzam Lake, and the Grand Forest of Bainbridge. If you are a birder, you will love to walk the beaches and sight bald eagles, kingfishers, and a wide variety of water birds.

LODGING:

If you are planning to visit Bainbridge, there are many bed-and-breakfasts or hotels to choose from. It would be my pleasure to give you a tour of the island or North Kitsap and answer any questions you might have.
